Charging Forklift Batteries the New-Fashioned Way
Did you know… that you can charge multiple car batteries safely and simultaneously, without ever having to set foot inside a battery room? With PosiCharge battery systems, you can also accomplish in just 15 to 30 minutes, giving your truck the boost it needs to continue on with its mission for another shift. Ever since PosiCharge systems entered the transportation industry several years ago, they have single-handedly helped companies save time and money through their steady efficiency and resourcefulness.
As more companies are exposed to PosiCharging’s valuable qualities, its makers are able to continue assuring that this product is “a safe fast charging technology that enables you to run your trucks on one battery all day with a quick charge during breaks and shift changes. That means you can eliminate the need for battery changing and everything that goes with it: a battery room, extra batteries, and changing. Plus, you can increase productive work time by cutting out time-wasting trips to the battery room and extra maintenance on battery inventories. These savings can translate to as much as 40% over battery changing.” So, “If your company is changing batteries in order to meet demand in a two or three-shift operation, PosiCharging can help you save money and time.” And with statistics and characteristics like that, who can afford NOT to make the switch?
Certainly not the executives at Del Monte Foods, who have been more than satisfied with PosiCharging their trucks years ago. As Glen A. Lewis, former director of energy and indirect procurement for Del Monte Foods confirms, “a key savings is in eliminating battery changes. Our time studies indicated it takes 15-20 minutes to change a battery. Over three shifts, that’s almost an hour of lost productivity per day, per truck. There are several thousand forklifts at Del Monte. The potential to reduce the size of the fleet or realize incremental shipping advantages is significant.”
AeroVironment Inc., the manufacturers of this product, also reveal that “for nearly a decade, our industrial vehicle Fast Chargers, Battery and Charging Accessories, and Installation Solutions have been helping the world's most productive corporations eliminate battery changing and dramatically increase throughput.” They, too, provide that “PosiCharge leads the fast charge revolution with its full line of fast charging systems that replace the battery room with intelligent, in-vehicle custom charging during scheduled breaks and shift changes - increasing run time to 100% of the productive work day.”
